Prince of Peace Visitor Information

Thank you for visiting Prince of Peace on the Web.  Prince of Peace Lutheran Church is a community that exists to INVITE people to faith and INSPIRE people with God's love so that they may GROW in faith and SHARE their gifts with integrity in the name of Jesus Christ.

We hope that your experience at Prince of Peace will be meaningful and fulfilling.  In this section of the web site, we have provided some visitor information for you, to aid in your worship experience, along with some frequently asked questions.

"Where is POP, and once there, where do I park?"  Prince of Peace is located at the intersection of Route 146 and Northcrest Drive in Clifton Park, New York. You can park anywhere you would like, and we have reserved visitor parking across from the main sanctuary entrance, should you want to utilize it.  Handicap parking is available at all entrances.  A map to our church can be found below.

"What are the service times?"  Our service times are at 8:15 AM and 10:45 AM.

"How can I meet a member of POP while visiting?"   Ushers and Greeters are located at the sanctuary doors within the Welcoming Area.  They are available to help you with directions or questions.  Just ask!  Our Pastors greet guests after services at the main exit.  Please introduce yourself, and let us know a little bit about yourself when you are visiting.  We are always looking for insight into our visitors and how we can connect with you.

"What special services are offered during the worship service?"  Assisted hearing devices are available should one be needed.  The children's nursery is open during both services.  It is located in Room 13 in the adjacent corridor through the west side doors.  Parents are invited to bring their children into the Sanctuary during the Offertory to join in Communion.  Restrooms are located down the same corridor just past the nursery on the right and also across from the kitchen as you continue toward the Northcrest Drive exit.

"What types of programs does Prince of Peace offer its members?  POP offers a variety of programs for children, youth and adults.  By clicking the "Shared Ministries" button above you'll see a wide variety of ministries that you and your family can become an active participant of.  Both as a recipient of a ministry and/or as a volunteer/member of a ministry.  You can view our weekly newsletter by clicking the "Faith Works" button above.  The "Calendar/Schedules" button above lists the most current information on events and activities.  You are invited and encouraged to attend any of our weekly and monthly events.  Our Sunday School, Adult Forums, Adult Bible Studies, Fellowship events, Team Ministries, Youth activities and Choirs are all part of our community life.

"What  if I am interested in joining Prince of Peace, or just want to know more about it before joining?  Prince of Peace offers "New Member" classes 3 to 4 times a year and each session is followed by a "New Member Sunday".  During these classes you will learn more about our church; meet some members, council and the pastors.  Blue Guest Folders with information about POP are available in the Welcoming Area.  Feel free to take one home.

"How often is Holy Communion received and who may receive it?  At Prince of Peace Holy Communion is received each Sunday except Palm Sunday.  All baptized Christians who have received instruction in the sacrament and seek Christ as present Lord are welcome.  Please come forward down the center aisle to the altar stations for the distribution.  Take the bread in your hand, dip it into the wine or grape juice and then return to your seat via the side aisles.  Children who have received first communion instruction are welcome to receive the sacrament.  Other children are welcome to receive the blessing.

A great way to get to know Prince of Peace and its members is to attend a worship service, and afterward take part in the coffee/juice and fellowship time after each service.  Please plan to join us for this time of conversation and becoming acquainted.

We understand that many guests want to investigate the church before they attend or join, and may have overall questions about Prince of Peace and the Lutheran Story.  If you have questions that aren't answered on the web site, or during your visit, please feel free to e-mail Pastor Jake at PastorJake@poplutheranchurch.org.

See you in Church!
