Meet Our Staff

Pastor Jeff Silvernail and his wife Linda are both natives of Upstate NY. Jeff was raised near Broadalbin, lived many years on a small farm near Johnstown and is a graduate of the University at Albany with a BS in Biology. Pastor Jeff has a wealth of life experiences having worked as a lumber mill foreman, quality control inspector, shipper, farmer, and union representative all before sensing God's call to full-time ministry. His faith journey brought him back to the church as an adult and eventually led him to the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, and ordained ministry in the ELCA. After serving St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Bemus Point, NY for nearly 12 years he accepted the call to Prince of Peace and began serving as senior pastor in March 2009.
Jeff brings a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, joyful worship, and leading people to dig deeper into the life of faith.
Jeff is an active recreational bike rider, baseball fan, guitarist and outdoorsman.
Jeff and Linda's son Andrew lives in California and works for Blizzard Entertainment.  Michele, Becky and Matthew are grown children from Linda's first marriage; and their children (Jeff and Linda's grandchildren) are Keeley, Luke, Sarah, Thomas and Ryan.

Pastor Amber Waugaman has lived most of her life in upstate New York and as a child participated in worship, Sunday school, choirs, and the clown troupe at Prince of Peace.  After graduating from Schenectady Christian School in Scotia, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from State University of New York at Geneseo.  She attended Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio where she received her Master of Divinity and was ordained into the ELCA in 2007.

Pastor Amber served 4 ½ years as the Associate Pastor of Youth and Family ministries at Christ the Redeemer in Brecksville, OH.  When her call ended she returned home to New York and worked as the Youth Coordinator at Good Shepherd in Glenville NY until she could find a pastoral call.  During that time she also worked at Crossroads Center for children, a school for children with autism.

Amber brings to the ministries of Prince of Peace a passion for creative worship, all-encompassing stewardship, life-long spiritual learning and growth, and a desire to walk alongside children and youth of all ages and abilities on their faith journeys.

Amber enjoys playing her French Horn when possible, skiing, reading, hiking, participating in the conference outdoor ministries (Confirmation Camp and Sr. High Camp) and playing with her cat, Sofia. She also loves spending time with her niece and nephew whenever possible.

Melanie Edwards is originally from Buffalo, New York. Her family moved to the area while she was in high school and graduated from Shenendehowa High School. Jim and Karen joined Prince of Peace in 1974 and settled in Halfmoon shortly afterward.  They raised 3 sons on the Roberts Compound and now enjoy a bunch of grandchildren. Both have been involved in a variety of responsibilities over the years. Jim has been council president and has co-chaired 2 building expansion teams in addition to his tasks of using his green thumb to maintain the church grounds.
