Pastor
Jeff Silvernail and his wife
Linda are both natives of Upstate NY. Jeff was raised near Broadalbin, lived
many years on a small farm near Johnstown and is a graduate of the University at
Albany. He has a wealth of life experiences having worked as a lumber mill
foreman, quality control inspector, shipper, farmer, and union representative
all before sensing God's call to full-time ministry. His faith journey brought
him back to the church as an adult and eventually led him to seminary and the
ordained ministry. After serving St. Timothy Lutheran Church for nearly 12 years
he accepted the call to Prince of Peace and began as senior pastor in March
2009.
Jeff brings a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus
Christ, engaging in worship, and leading people to dig deeper into the life of
faith.
Jeff is an active recreational bike rider. He loves
watching baseball and is thrilled that his beloved Phillies won the World
Series. In addition Jeff is a deer hunter (a.k.a his annual prayer retreat),
and occasional fisherman.
Jeff and Linda have one very spoiled dog, Thumper, better
known as “Puppy”; and a slightly less spoiled son, Andrew who is a senior at
Becker College in Worcester, Massachusetts. Michele, Becky and Matthew are grown
children from Linda's first marriage; and their children (Jeff and Linda's
grandchildren) are Keeley, Luke, Sarah, Thomas and Ryan.
Vicar
Becca Ehrlich is also a native of Upstate NY. Becca grew up in
Waterford, NY and graduated from Shenendehowa High School. She then moved to
Pennsylvania for a while, earning a B.A. from Muhlenberg College in
Allentown and an M.A. from La Salle University in Philadelphia. She is
currently working on her M.Div. from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at
Philadelphia, and will graduate in May 2011; she is seeking ordination in
the ELCA, and hopes to receive a call as a parish pastor in the future.
Becca is excited to be the seminary intern at Prince of Peace, and to be
back in her hometown area! In her free time, Becca enjoys watching movies,
singing, dancing, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Marilyn Paarlberg
and her husband, John, live in an 1885 farmhouse in Loudonville. When she is
not in our church office, chances are good that Marilyn might be engaged in one
of the many tasks involved in renovating an old house. Other spare-time hobbies
are writing poetry, gardening, and keeping in touch with the Paarlbergs’ three
children.
OPEN POSITION
Lori Orlowski
was born and raised in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, a suburb of Denver. She started
playing piano when she was 8 years old, and has been accompanying various
choirs, soloists, and groups of every kind, both vocal and instrumental, ever
since. After graduating from the University of Kansas, she met and married Jeff.
After living in Kansas City for a year, they moved back to Denver where their
two sons were born. Jeff's job changes have taken them to Lubbock, Texas;
Houston, Texas; and now Clifton Park, NY. Lori accompanied the Prince of Peace
choir for 4 years before taking over for our retiring organist and choir
director. She enjoys most caring for her family, and watching her oldest son's
band and jazz band concerts and rock band perform, and youngest son's hockey
games.
